“This is a collection of photos from the collection Spring 2018 Scrap, presented in June 2017. Multiple advertisements were created using the collection’s promotional photos, graphics, critiques and show recordings, which were bundled together into a book. The photographs are by Takashi Homma and Arata Mino. The book features text by Somi Kamizuma and graphic design by Shun Ishizuka.
. Spring 2018 is based on the theme of Scrap, a collection created with images of clothing collected from fashion media and materials such as tarpaulin and paper used as advertisements for department stores and buildings. This collection was inspired by a woman who does not exist. Whenever there is a piece of clothing that interests her, she collects images of it on the internet and continues to create a body image of it by collaging it with her own photos on display. She does not passively enjoy and consume the vast amount of advertisements and images circulating in the fashion media, but rather sees them as a source of inspiration for creating something new. Suggested ways to get involved: on June 3, 2017, we held a fashion show with Chimichi Komatsu, an artist and musician, and Arata Mino, a director and photographer.”

Spring 2018は Scrap をテーマに、ファッションメディアから収集した服の画像と、デパートやビルの広告として使用されるターポリンや紙などを素材として制作されたコレクション。本作は、実在しない女性をミューズとして着想されました。彼女は気になる服があると、その画像をインターネットで収集し、ディスプレイ上で自身の写真とコラージュすることでその身体イメージを作り続けます。ファッションのメディアに流通する膨大な数の広告やイメージを受動的に享受して消費するのではなく、新しいものを作るための材料として捉えているのです。PUGMENTはこのようなイメージとの関わり方を服制作のプロセスへと用いることで、現代における能動的なイメージとの関わり方を提案しました。2017年6月3日には美術作家・ミュージシャン 小松千倫と、演出家・写真家 三野新を迎え、ファッションショーを行いました。”
